Judging Ideal (Objectively)

This writing product is developed based on my last fragment. The title might sounds so nihilistic (it literally is). However, trust me bro it is my way to find my own existential. Does it contain paradoxical nuance? You will know it.

The Curse of Knowledge

In my doom scrolling not-so-productive activity long time ago, I found an Instagram reels of Abigail Limuria who wanted to discuss about the more aware and more knowledge we possess, the pessimism and cynicism are way more increased.

It’s so counter-productive right? Izza Himawanti commented in Aby’s reels, TL;DR, it is a sign of affection lacked. More specific it is emotional intelligence stuff where she also said that someone who doesn’t have emotional maturity will most likely feel anxious. Which I grasp that it will generate cynical behavior in pessimistic sense.

So do I, I feel it everyday. I was sick of it. Most of my mental breakdowns are caused of it. Any knowledge sources both conscious or not which I consumed, somehow creates non-sense feeling of anxiety, pessimism, whatever negative feeling you name it.

For example, when I read philosophy books aiming to sharpen my thought framework until fall in love with that, I might seek out articles to broaden my understanding; yet, for some reason, I am always left feeling that the sense of emptiness expands far more than the enlightenment that was my actual goal. I always swear to myself, “F*ck why does this somehow overwhelming?”

The Binary Fallacy

That somehow left me confused until I decided to analyze it myself. In short I recognized that I always try to judge anything binary. Either it’s the leftest or rightest in a spectrum. There’s no in between, while surely it supposed to be existed. So that I asked myself ton times, “what does ideal mean actually?”. unintentionally to fill the emotional maturity gap I had.

Not just that, I was misjudging subjectivity stuff into the other side. Yes, I thought ideal is part of an objective judgement. I put it in the wrong bowl. Ideal itself supposed to be subjective aspect rather than objective.

Objectivity With a Side of Context

However, is just that? Can we judge ideal through objective perspective? Surely, we can. Whoa, do not tripping bro, relax. We can make it to be more objective when we add condition as topping. We have to realize what kind of condition we are in, now. So that we can jump into how we will make a reaction into certain circumstance ideally.

Since it is my own page, I don’t think I have the obligation to wrap up this boring whatsoever writing. Anyone who read it (I wish) does. But, that is ideal. We can’t put it as objective stuff rawly, rather it has to be added by our condition as its complement, so it can be objectively judged.
